Sunk is a new theatre work for adults by Ian Cameron and Sean Hay.

Dark and playful, it tells the story of two friends, Bob and Charlie, whose fathers worked together on ships and drowned at sea.

As an act of remembrance, they charter a boat and go on a journey to lay a wreath for their fathers in the area where they perished. However, neither Bob nor Charlie have sailed a boat before.

On the water, they face bad weather, share a bunk, remember their childhoods and their fathers, play games and undertake the ritual of the watch. As they sail further out to sea, the reality of the situation they are in becomes apparent.

Sunk is visually striking with a set designed by Karen Tennent (NTS, Dundee Rep, Catherine Wheels, Perth Theatre) and lighting design by Simon Wilkinson (Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Islander, Vanishing Point, Vox Motus’s Flight and Robert Lepage).

Directed by Nicholas Bone (Magnetic North), with movement direction from clowning specialist Mark Saunders (RSC) and a soundscape created by Georgina MacDonell Finlayson (SCO, Red Note Ensemble, Nevis Ensemble).
